Gulfport police arrest 17-year-old after 14-year-old shot

GULFPORT, Mississippi — The Gulfport Police Department said it arrested 17-year-old Marrion Greer of Gulfport on Feb. 13 and charged him with aggravated assault after a 14-year-old boy suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the city.

Officers responded at about 9:13 p.m. to the area of 28th Street and Hudson Avenue for a report of a shooting, the department said in a news release posted to its Facebook page. Responding officers located the injured 14-year-old and transported him to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The department said its investigation indicated the shooting stemmed from a planned meeting between individuals who intended to fight over a female. Greer was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on a $250,000 bond.
