Grass fire reported on Lily Lane in Natchez
NATCHEZ — A grass fire broke out Monday afternoon on Lily Lane, Adams County E911 reported.
Adams County E911 received a 911 call at about 4:55 p.m. on Feb. 23 reporting a grass fire near 12 Lily Lane, officials said. Deputies and the Natchez Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, and fire crews arrived within minutes to begin suppression efforts.
Engine 3 initiated fire attack operations and crews contained the blaze, which involved grass and light brush along a wooded area adjacent to the roadway. Officials said Engine 4 was later released from the scene and that emergency personnel contained the fire before it spread to nearby structures or caused significant property damage.
No injuries were reported. Units cleared the scene after checking the area for remaining hot spots, officials said.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reminded residents to use caution when burning outdoors, especially during dry conditions, noting that small fires can spread quickly and threaten property and public safety.
