Facebook post warns public not to go around barricades
A Facebook post said, “Once again, please do not go around barricades. They are up for safety reasons, not just for looks.”
The post reiterated a common public-safety message urging people to respect physical barriers placed at work sites, crash scenes, flood zones and other hazards. It did not name a specific agency or provide details about a particular location or incident.
Barricades and other temporary barriers are commonly used by municipal crews, police and emergency responders to protect workers, keep pedestrians and motorists away from danger, and control traffic. Ignoring them can expose people to hazards such as unstable ground, moving equipment or active emergency operations and can complicate response efforts.
The post’s opening phrase, “Once again,” suggests the reminder follows previous warnings about bypassing barricades. Officials and public-safety organizations generally encourage the public to follow posted detours and instructions and to consult official channels for updates. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
