Driver dies after one-vehicle rollover in Coahoma County
A 46-year-old driver died after a one-vehicle rollover Tuesday on Friars Point Road south of Dickerson Road in Coahoma County, Miss., the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies arrived at the scene and located the driver, identified as Marcel Thomas, and immediately began life-saving measures, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. Thomas was transported to Northwest Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale, where life-saving efforts continued. Despite those efforts, Thomas later died of injuries sustained in the crash, the post said.
The sheriff’s office extended its condolences to the family and asked the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers, saying motorists should use caution while traveling. The office urged drivers to let someone know travel plans and expected arrival times and to remain aware of their surroundings, the post said.
