Crime Stoppers, Tupelo police seek suspect in Jan. 25 phone theft
Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi and the Tupelo Police Department are asking the public for help identifying a person accused of stealing a cellular phone and using linked credit cards to make unauthorized purchases on Jan. 25, 2026, in Tupelo, the organizations said.
The individual entered a business in Tupelo and left with a phone that contained credit card information, Crime Stoppers said. The Tupelo Police Department is investigating the matter as a false-pretense case and released a photo of the person on social media as part of the appeal for information.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi at 800-773-TIPS (8477) or to download the P3 Tip App and submit an anonymous tip, the group said. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest and urged people to share the QR code for the P3 Tip App; the group said it does not want names, only information.
