Crime Stoppers seeks suspect in Tupelo false-pretense case
Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi and the Tupelo Police Department are asking for the public’s help identifying a person accused in a false-pretense case, the organizations said in a Facebook post.
They said the incident occurred on Jan. 25, 2026, when the person entered a business in Tupelo and stole a cellular phone that had credit card information linked to it. Investigators later discovered the linked credit cards were used to make several unauthorized purchases, the post said. The Facebook post included a photo of the person police seek.
Authorities asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of NE MS at 800-773-TIPS (8477) or to download the P3 Tip App and leave an anonymous tip. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 in cash for a tip that leads to an arrest, the post said. “Crime Stoppers does not want your name just your information,” it added.
False pretense typically refers to obtaining property or services through deception, a form of theft often investigated by local police. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
