Crews clear storm debris, cause traffic delays Sunday
Public works crews will clean storm debris on Sunday, March 29, beginning at 7 a.m., and motorists should expect delays on West College Street from U.S. 45 to South Second Street, officials said.
A Facebook post from local officials also warned that traffic delays are possible on East Church Street later in the afternoon as crews continue cleanup work. Drivers are urged to use caution, obey posted directions and allow extra travel time in the affected areas.
Storm debris on roadways can create safety hazards and slow emergency response, which is why municipal crews often prioritize clearing major thoroughfares after severe weather. Officials typically coordinate traffic control and cleanup to restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
Commuters may wish to consider alternate routes or delay nonessential travel through the affected corridors while crews work. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
