Columbus man charged after Railroad Street stabbing
A Columbus man has been charged after police said he stabbed another man during a physical altercation earlier this month.
Columbus Police Department said officers responded April 3 to the 800 block of Railroad Street after a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they rendered aid to 47-year-old William Jones, who had sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body, and Jones was transported for medical treatment, police said.
Investigators determined that 45-year-old Tyshun Hudson stabbed Jones during the altercation, the police said. On April 4, an officer located Hudson and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center and has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said.
The Columbus Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact the department or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
