Coahoma County sheriff receives $100,000 in federal law enforcement funding
The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office announced in a Facebook post that it received $100,000 in law enforcement support funding awarded through the 2025–2026 Community Project Special Appropriations program.
The office said the award was made possible by Rep. Bennie Thompson and will be used to support essential law enforcement operations and enhance public safety initiatives throughout Coahoma County.
Under the leadership of Sheriff Mario Magsby Sr., the sheriff’s office said only 10 counties in the congressional district were selected to receive this funding, which the office described as a notable achievement and a testament to its commitment to professional service.
Coahoma County is in Mississippi and relies on federal and local partnerships to fund public safety projects. The sheriff’s office extended appreciation to Rep. Thompson for his advocacy. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
