Chief Tucker thanks legislators, National Guard for emergency response
Chief Tucker said in a Facebook post that he thanks legislators Bubba Carpenter, Brad Mattox and Rita Parks and the National Guard for acting “quickly and deliberately” during a state of emergency.
The post did not specify the nature of the emergency or where it occurred. It offered a brief public expression of gratitude to lawmakers and military personnel involved in the response.
Legislators and the National Guard commonly play key roles when governors declare states of emergency: elected officials can help secure emergency funding and expedite requests for state assistance, while the National Guard often provides manpower, logistics and transportation support to local responders.
Such coordination can be critical for restoring services, supporting evacuations and delivering aid to affected residents. Local chiefs and emergency managers frequently issue public acknowledgments when partner agencies provide timely help.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
