Cadet Class 70 logs strong third week of training

Cadet Class 70 completed its third week of training, the training academy said in a Facebook reel, calling it “another strong week of training” and saying it is proud of the cadets who have stepped up to serve and protect the state.

The class is part of a state law enforcement training academy that prepares recruits for careers in policing and public safety. Academies typically combine physical conditioning, tactical exercises and classroom instruction on law, ethics and community policing to ready recruits for field duties.

Officials and training leaders say sustained, rigorous instruction is critical to ensuring new officers are prepared to handle patrol duties, initial investigations and interactions with community members. Successful completion of academy training is usually a prerequisite for sworn appointment and field training assignments.

Cadet Class 70 will continue through its scheduled curriculum as the academy moves the group toward later phases of training. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
