Biloxi Police promote six officers in pinning ceremony
The Biloxi Police Department promoted six officers during a pinning ceremony at the Biloxi Police Training Center, the department said in a Facebook post. Family and friends attended the event as officers received new badge numbers and assignments.
The newly promoted officers and their assignments are Major Matthew DeDual, commander of the Criminal Investigations Division; Captain Chris Pigage, Operations Division Patrol B shift; Lieutenant Justin Branning, Administrative Support Division; Lieutenant Jason Cummings, Operations Division Traffic Unit; Sergeant Derek Gioia, Operations Division Patrol A shift; and Sergeant Leroi Bloom, Administrative Support Division.
The Biloxi Police Department provides law enforcement services to the city of Biloxi on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Pinning ceremonies traditionally recognize rank advancements and mark transitions in leadership and responsibilities within a department.
