The University of Mississippi Medical Center said on Facebook that its phone lines are now working and staff are calling patients to reschedule missed appointments.
UMMC, a major academic medical center based in Jackson that operates hospitals and clinics across the state, asked patients who still need assistance to contact their clinic or the system’s main phone lines.
The center said it appreciates patients’ support as it works to recover and provide care at all locations. Restored telephone service allows administrative and clinical teams to begin addressing cancellations and missed visits and to prioritize urgent needs.
Officials did not provide additional details about the cause or duration of the phone disruption in the post. Patients with concerns should call their clinic or UMMC’s main lines for information about rescheduling. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
