UMMC researchers improve cancer care through HPV studies
Researchers at the University of Mississippi Medical Center are translating cancer discoveries into better patient care. Their work on human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes helped influence new national guidelines for cervical cancer screening and treatment.
The research aims to improve prevention, screening, and health outcomes for women at risk of cervical cancer. UMMC officials say the findings are already making a difference in clinical practices.
