UMMC Psychiatry Department Celebrates 70 Years of Focus on Human Experience
Since its founding, psychiatry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center has aimed to do more than treat mental illness. The department has focused on understanding the human experience behind mental health conditions.
Seventy years later, that mission endures through the efforts of dedicated staff, innovative programs, and families who have contributed to the department’s lasting influence, UMMC officials said.
