UMMC launches CenteringPregnancy at EversCare

The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) announced on its Facebook page that it is launching CenteringPregnancy at EversCare, bringing expectant mothers together for extended visits focused on education, support and shared experience.

The CenteringPregnancy model organizes prenatal care into group sessions that combine clinical assessment, health education and peer support in longer appointments. Advocates say the approach emphasizes community-centered care and allows clinicians to address medical needs while fostering mutual support among participants.

UMMC said the program is intended to expand access to prenatal services and improve outcomes across Mississippi. Maternal and infant health remain priorities for health systems and public officials, and group prenatal models are one strategy health providers use to increase engagement and reduce barriers to care.

UMMC posted a link to more information about the initiative on its news site. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
