Vicksburg Warren School District closes schools, offices Monday
VICKSBURG, Miss. — The Vicksburg Warren School District said it will close schools and district offices Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, because of unsafe road conditions and the potential for ice.
The district said in a Facebook post that officials are closely monitoring winter weather and consulting with Warren County emergency officials to guide decisions. A determination on school operations for Tuesday, Jan. 27, will be announced by 2 p.m. Monday.
District officials said the safety of students, staff and families is the top priority and encouraged families and employees to take necessary safety precautions, limit travel when possible and monitor official district communication channels for updates.
The Vicksburg Warren School District is the public school system serving Vicksburg and surrounding Warren County.
