Oxford School District honors school resource officers

The Oxford School District posted on its Facebook page that it is celebrating the school resource officers who serve the district, saying they help keep campuses safe, mentor students and build positive relationships.

School resource officers, commonly referred to as SROs, are law enforcement officers assigned to work in K-12 schools. Their duties typically include campus safety, crime prevention, crisis response and student engagement through mentoring and education programs.

The district said the SROs’ role extends beyond security, helping to foster trust between students and law enforcement and contributing to a positive school climate. The post thanked officers for their daily dedication and encouraged the community to join in recognition.

The district also noted the observance of National School Resource Officer Day and wished its SROs a happy observance. Oxford School District oversees public schools in its community and frequently communicates updates and acknowledgments through its official social media channels.

Details in the district post were limited. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
