Campus opens warming center, adjusts services Feb. 1-6

Campus officials said the Student Union will operate as a warming center with overnight access and other campus services will run on adjusted schedules from Feb. 1-6, according to a campus social media post.

The post said Rebel Market and RC South will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Turner Center showers will be available from noon to 4 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 6. Pharmacy Health Services will operate from noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, and can be reached by text at (855) 454-0839, the post said.

The campus also said the South Campus Rail Trail is closed until further notice and that debris removal is ongoing. Officials asked students, staff and visitors to keep roadways and walkways clear of vehicles and pedestrian traffic so cleanup crews can work safely and efficiently.

Colleges and universities commonly establish warming centers and adjust services during periods of severe weather or infrastructure work to protect health and safety and to maintain essential operations. These measures can provide shelter, access to basic services and minimize risk while crews complete necessary repairs.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
