Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for fondling

BOONEVILLE, Miss. — A man accused of fondling has received a 12-year prison sentence, with no possibility of parole or early release, officials said.

Michael Leroy Mace, 44, pleaded guilty to the charge on Jan. 8, 2026, and was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. on Jan. 12. The judge ordered a day-for-day sentence of 12 years, with an additional three years suspended and three years of post-release supervision.

Mace is required to register as a sex offender. The Booneville Police Department investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Joel Baldwin.

District Attorney Jason D. Herring commended the work of Investigator Corie Gann Robbins and the Booneville Police Department for their efforts in resolving the case.

This case was prosecuted on behalf of the state of Mississippi.
