Starkville Man Arrested Following Motorcycle Pursuit
STARKVILLE – A Starkville man has been taken into custody following a motorcycle pursuit that occurred over the weekend.
According to the Starkville Police Department, the incident began around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, when an officer attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle for a traffic violation. The rider, later identified as 30-year-old James Reikhof, refused to stop and fled from officers. Police say the pursuit was terminated due to the totality of the circumstances, but the incident remained under investigation.
On Monday evening, August 11, SPD officers executed a search warrant related to the case and arrested Reikhof without incident. He was charged with failure to stop when signaled by an officer (felony fleeing) and possession of a weapon by a felon. The motorcycle was impounded as part of the investigation.
Reikhof was booked into the Oktibbeha County Jail.
