Officer-involved shooting in Clinton

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) has been brought in to investigate an officer-involved shooting that took place Sunday morning. 

According to a news release from the MBI, the incident took place about 9 a.m. Sunday morning near 552 Spring Ridge Road in Clinton. 

Police responded to a call of a suspicious person wearing a ski mask at an apartment complex. When they arrived, officers met a subject who displayed a weapon towards an officer. The subject did receive fatal injuries and the officer received no injuries.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing their investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
