Major Drug Bust Nets 100 Pounds of Meth, Weapons, and Vehicles

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, working with Capitol Police, announced a significant drug bust that removed a large quantity of narcotics and firearms from circulation.

On August 7, agents executed a search warrant that led to the arrest of Racquel Taylor, who was found in possession of about 100 pounds of methamphetamine. Days later, on August 12, authorities also arrested Tyrone Samuel on charges of aggravated trafficking and conspiracy. Samuel was already out on bond in Madison County at the time of his arrest.

In addition to the meth, investigators seized:

  • Roughly 2 pounds of marijuana
  • About 1,000 counterfeit M30 Oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl
  • A Draco 7.62 rifle
  • A stolen Ford Bronco from Kentucky
  • A GMC Yukon

Officials confirmed the investigation remains ongoing and more arrests are expected.
