Gulfport Woman Arrested After Police Chase Ends in Wooded Area
GULFPORT – A Gulfport woman is behind bars after leading police on a chase that ended in her arrest on multiple felony charges.
On Friday, September 5, 2025, Gulfport Police officers arrested Jennifer Parfait, 44, charging her with felony fleeing and eluding and possession of methamphetamine.
According to authorities, the incident began around 12:30 p.m. when officers with the Gulfport Police Motorcycle Unit saw a vehicle run a red light on Cowan Road. When they attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver refused to stop, sparking a pursuit.
The chase ended when the suspect reached a dead-end street and fled on foot. Officers and detectives canvassed the area and found Parfait hiding in nearby woods. She was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators later discovered Parfait was wanted on multiple felony warrants in Hancock, Pearl River, and Harrison counties. Officers also found methamphetamine in her possession at the time of her arrest.
Parfait was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Her bond was set at $100,000 by Judge Fountain.
