Toppers overwhelm ABAC on Senior Night
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian University overwhelmed ABAC 95-63 Thursday on Senior Night, dominating from the opening tip in Southern States Athletic Conference play.
The Toppers shot 55.9 percent from the field and made 13 three-pointers at a 48.1 percent clip, converting efficient looks created by crisp ball movement and spacing. Blue Mountain used steady defensive pressure and unselfish offense to build a large lead and maintain control throughout the game.
Maddie Kirk led all scorers with 21 points. Isabella Carlson finished with 13 points and 14 assists, orchestrating the offense and keeping teammates involved. Kathryn Echols added 15 points, Rebecca Walter scored 14 and Lena Taylor contributed 11 as multiple players reached double figures.
The victory served as a tribute to the program’s seniors and a statement finish to the home slate for the Toppers. Blue Mountain travels to Loyola University (La.) on Thursday, Feb. 19, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
