Toppers finish 12th at Coastal Georgia Winter Invite

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — Blue Mountain Christian’s women’s golf team finished 12th at the Coastal Georgia Winter Invite on a par-72 course measuring 5,963 yards, competing against a strong national field on Monday and Tuesday.

The event featured several top-ranked NAIA programs, including No. 1 Keiser, No. 6 SCAD Savannah, No. 9 Southeastern, No. 14 Embry-Riddle and No. 17 Coastal Georgia, along with other teams receiving votes. Facing those nationally ranked opponents gave the Toppers a benchmark against some of the best programs in the country.

Morgan Dabbs led Blue Mountain, tying for 45th after rounds of 84-78 for a two-round total of 162, improving by six strokes in the final round. Abby Gattis tied for 54th at 167 (79-88). Erin Porter tied for 60th at 171 after shooting 90-81, improving by nine strokes in the second round. Abby Moore tied for 64th at 172 (84-88), and Adina Ataullah placed 79th at 189 (97-92).

Head coach Kevin Barefield said the tournament provided valuable experience. “This was a great opportunity for our women to measure themselves against some of the best teams in the country,” he said. “We saw growth throughout the tournament, especially with how we responded in the second round. Competing in fields like this prepares us for what’s ahead, and I’m proud of the way our players represented Blue Mountain.” We will provide more information as it becomes available.
