Toppers fall to Bethel on road

McKenzie, Tennessee — Blue Mountain Christian’s women’s tennis team fell 7-0 to Bethel University on Tuesday in a nonconference road match, the school reported.

Bethel claimed all three doubles courts to take the early advantage. Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos lost 6-1 on the top court, Lina Cetina and Lucia Garcia were defeated 6-2 at No. 2 doubles, and Kiersten Terris and Nami Malyaporn dropped court three, 6-1.

In singles action, Mordiz turned in one of the more competitive performances, falling 6-0, 6-4 on the top court. Ramos lost 6-1, 6-0, and Cetina pushed her opponent deep before losing in a match tiebreaker, 10-4. Malyaporn and Garcia each fell 6-0, 6-3, and Terris was defeated 6-0, 6-0.

Blue Mountain Christian will look to bounce back in its next outing, the athletic department said. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
