Toppers earn 69-66 road win at Brewton-Parker Christian

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. — Blue Mountain Christian University women’s basketball edged Brewton-Parker Christian 69-66 in an SSAC road game Tuesday, improving to 10-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play. Brewton-Parker fell to 4-18 and 3-8 in SSAC action.

Brewton-Parker built an early lead, but the Toppers responded with balanced scoring and steady defensive pressure to stay within striking distance. Maddie Kirk and McKenzie Williams provided early scoring, while Isabella Carlson helped settle the offense with strong ball movement.

The contest remained tight in the second half as the Barons trimmed the margin several times. Blue Mountain Christian answered each push with timely baskets, defensive stops and strong rebounding, and late free throws and composed decision-making allowed the Toppers to maintain their advantage in the closing minutes.

Blue Mountain Christian was led by Maddie Kirk with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. McKenzie Williams had 14 points and five rebounds, and Rebecca Walter added 12 points. Isabella Carlson finished with eight rebounds, eight assists and seven points. Blue Mountain Christian returns to action Thursday against Life University.
