Dalton State beats Blue Mountain Christian in SSAC road game
DALTON, Ga. — The Blue Mountain Christian Toppers lost a Southern States Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon, falling 103-68 to the Dalton State Roadrunners.
Dalton State took control early, imposing a fast-paced, aggressive defense that disrupted Blue Mountain’s offense. The Roadrunners built a double-digit lead in the first half, thanks to balanced scoring and strong shooting, particularly from beyond the arc. The Toppers struggled to find a rhythm, as Dalton State scored in transition and capitalized on second-chance opportunities to maintain their advantage.
After halftime, Blue Mountain increased its intensity. Esrael Yant provided an offensive spark, making three three-pointers and finishing with 17 points. Gavin Shannon contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, while Kam Carter facilitated the offense with 10 points and five assists. Jonathan Baker added 10 points in steady play.
Despite the effort, the Toppers could not close the gap. They finished with a shooting percentage of 39.4% and made eight three-pointers, showing resilience against Dalton State’s defense. The Roadrunners remained in control throughout the game and extended their lead in the second half.
Blue Mountain will host the Thomas Nighthawks on Thursday night in its next game. More updates will be provided as the season progresses. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
