Blue Mountain Christian loses 7-0 at Bethel
McKenzie, Tennessee — Bethel University defeated Blue Mountain Christian 7-0 on Tuesday, according to a Blue Mountain Christian athletics release.
Several matches were competitive despite the sweep. In doubles, Adriaan Englebrecht and Luis Lainer played on the top court before falling 6-4. Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins dropped their match 6-1 on court two, and Pablo Cruz and Kevin Kotzé lost 6-4 in the third doubles position, the release said.
In singles, Englebrecht fell 6-0, 6-3 on the No. 1 court. Blevins was defeated 6-2, 6-1, and Cruz lost 6-3, 6-3. Kotzé pushed his first set to a tiebreak before falling 7-6, 6-2. Elsewhere in the lineup, Parra was defeated 6-0, 6-2, and Lainer battled through a close deciding tiebreaker, losing 10-5 in the match tiebreaker, according to the release.
