Reeves meets Administrator Jared Isaacman at NASA, discusses Stennis partnership

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said in a Facebook post that he met with Administrator Jared Isaacman at NASA headquarters and discussed ways the state can partner with the Trump administration to support work at NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center.

Reeves said the visit highlighted some of the “most technologically advanced work in the world” taking place at the Stennis center. He said the conversation focused on how Mississippi can further partner with the federal government to help sustain that work.

The John C. Stennis Space Center is NASA’s primary rocket engine test facility in Mississippi and plays a role in supporting agency missions and contractor activity. State leaders have for years sought to maintain and expand federal and commercial operations at the center because of its local economic impact.

Reeves also said Isaacman showed him a moon rock he valued at over $1 billion. The governor posted images of the visit on his Facebook page. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
