MDPS welcomes new members to agency
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety welcomed new members to its ranks in a post on the agency’s Facebook page, saying, “Welcome to the MDPS family! We’re proud to have you serve alongside us and continue making Mississippi a safer place.”
The announcement did not include additional details about the individuals or their roles. The department, commonly known by the initials MDPS, is the state agency responsible for a range of public safety functions, including driver licensing services and highway safety programs, and it works with law enforcement partners across Mississippi.
Welcoming new employees publicly is a routine step for state agencies as they onboard staff whose duties can affect traffic safety, enforcement and community outreach. Recruitment and retention of trained personnel can influence how effectively the state responds to public safety needs and implements safety initiatives.
Details about the hires, their assignments and start dates were not provided. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
