Dispatchers across state honored on National Radio Day
A Facebook post on National Radio Day thanked dispatchers across the state for their work answering calls, guiding help and supporting first responders during emergencies.
The post said the radio “isn’t just communication, it’s connection” and called dispatchers the heroes behind the scenes. It expressed gratitude for the dispatchers who stay strong as they coordinate responses and guide emergency teams to people in need.
Dispatchers and radio communications play a central role in public safety by receiving emergency calls, dispatching police, fire and medical personnel, and maintaining communication when other systems fail. The work often takes place in centralized call centers, where operators must make quick decisions under pressure to direct resources to critical incidents.
The recognition highlights the continuing importance of radio technology and trained personnel in emergency response systems. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
