On Sunday afternoon, Tropical Storm Marco was upgraded to a class one hurricane. This comes after hurricane hunters discovered that the winds in the eye of the storm had hit the 75 miles per hour threshold.
The storm is expected to make landfall in the New Orleans area on Monday evening.
Marco was expected to convert into a hurricane, so plans regarding the storm seem to be making no changes.
Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura are expected to make landfall within one week of each other.
