The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Natchez Police Department that occurred on South Canal Road on May 11, 2025.
Officers were attempting to serve a warrant on the subject. Upon arrival to the location, the subject displayed a firearm, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between the subject and law enforcement officers. The subject sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. No officers were injured during the encounter.
MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office. This information is preliminary and subject to change.
