More than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases reported by health officials
In the most recent report from the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), the state has seen 3,120 new cases of COVID-19 reported between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6. There have been 32 additional deaths reported that were connected to COVID-19 and 129 LTCs or Long-Term Care outbreaks.
Since the start of the outbreak in March 2020, Mississippi has seen a total of 981,020 coronavirus cases and 13,257 deaths.
Of the case numbers, MSDH reports that 519,575 are confirmed and 461,445 were probable. Among the fatalities, 8,688 were confirmed from coronavirus and the remainder were probable COVID-19-related deaths.
