City of Jackson Lifts COVID-19 Capacity Limits
The City of Jackson Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba announced the signature of the Stay Safe Executive Order on Monday, which will lift some restrictions on businesses.
“We know that success at controlling the spread of this virus depends upon all of us adhering to recommended social distancing and mask wearing guidelines,” said Lumumba. “We also recognize the economic impact that this pandemic and the resulting restrictions have had on our business community and our city. This order aims to help Jackson businesses prosper through this challenge by opening more public spaces and lifting capacity restrictions while maintaining some necessary precautions.”
With the newest order, masks are still required in public places even with the lifting of capacity limits. However, all capacity and operational restrictions on businesses have been lifted.
The mask mandate states that face coverings must be worn at all times in public indoor and outdoor areas where six foot distance can not be maintained between persons.
