Two wounded in shooting at Tunica County trail ride

TUNICA COUNTY, Mississippi — Two people were wounded Saturday evening in a shooting at a trail ride event, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office said.

Multiple 911 calls came in about 6:09 p.m. reporting shots fired at a trail ride being held in Dundee on Dubbs Road by Muddy River Delta Farm, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene and found two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were treated at the scene by Pafford and then transported by Wings by Pafford AirOne to hospitals for further care, officials said.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office at 662-363-1411. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 662-910-0400. Officials said information leading to an arrest could result in a reward of up to $1,000.

Trail rides are community events in which participants travel rural routes on horseback or in groups, and they can draw local residents and visitors. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
