Tupelo man arrested on aggravated domestic violence charge

Tupelo police arrested a 25-year-old man on an aggravated domestic violence charge following an investigation that began after a reported assault, authorities said.

Officials said officers first made contact with a victim on Feb. 20 at the North Mississippi Medical Center emergency room at 830 South Gloster Street. The victim reported she had been assaulted at a residence on Veterans Boulevard, authorities said.

After an investigation, police arrested Tilar T. Thompson of Tupelo on March 13 and charged him with one count of aggravated domestic violence, authorities said. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Thompson’s bond at $40,000 on March 15, court records show. The charge will be presented to the Lee County grand jury for further proceedings, authorities said.
