Trooper, driver injured in chase crash in Webster County
WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. — A Mississippi state trooper and another driver are recovering after a crash that occurred while the trooper was pursuing a separate vehicle, state and local media reported.
Bryant Flake with the Mississippi Highway Patrol told WTVA that a trooper assigned to Troop G collided with another vehicle while attempting to stop a different car. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital in Tupelo with moderate injuries, Flake said.
The trooper was transported to Choctaw Regional Medical Center in Ackerman with moderate injuries, WTVA reported. Officials said both individuals are improving. The Mississippi Highway Patrol, the state agency responsible for highway safety and enforcement, is investigating the incident.
