Three taken into custody after shoplifting at Guns-N-Gear
Three suspects were taken into custody Thursday after officers responded to a shoplifting call at Guns-N-Gear, 1716 Highway 51 in Gluckstadt, the Gluckstadt Police Department said.
Police said officers were dispatched March 19 after the store owner reported a shoplifting in progress. Officers arrived within seconds and detained all three suspects before they were able to leave the store, police said.
During the investigation, officers discovered a stolen firearm, the department said. One juvenile was transported to the Yazoo City Juvenile Detention Facility on a charge of conspiracy. Police identified two other suspects as Lamarcus Pate, who was charged with conspiracy, and Mitchell Robinson, who faces multiple charges including shoplifting, conspiracy and possession of a stolen firearm. Robinson also was being served on an active warrant for an additional possession of a stolen firearm charge.
Robinson and Pate were awaiting initial appearance in Gluckstadt Municipal Court. The Gluckstadt Police Department credited its patrol division’s quick response and follow-up investigation with helping resolve the case. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
