Thieves steal zero-turn mower from Seminary ball field
COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. — The Covington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle and its occupants in connection with the theft of a 72-inch Big Dog zero-turn mower from the Seminary Youth Association Ball Field, officials said.
The sheriff’s office said the theft occurred Feb. 19, 2026, at the ball field in Seminary. Investigators said a vehicle arrived at about 1:40 p.m. without a trailer, then returned at about 3:21 p.m. with a trailer, and the mower was taken during the later visit.
Authorities asked anyone who recognizes the vehicle or its occupants, or who saw the vehicle in the area that afternoon, to contact the department’s confidential tips line at 601-641-4618. The sheriff’s office released the timeline and is seeking additional information from the public to help identify suspects.
Local ball fields depend on large mowing equipment to maintain playing surfaces for youth leagues and community events, and loss of such equipment can disrupt scheduled activities. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
