Tate Reeves congratulates Governor’s Arts Awards winners
Gov. Tate Reeves posted on Facebook congratulating this year’s Governor’s Arts Awards winners and praising the state’s creative community. He wrote that “Mississippi is blessed with incredibly talented artists who have left a lasting impact on our state and nation,” and named the honorees.
The winners listed by Reeves include Dottie Armstrong, Heather Christian, Greg Harkins, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and Jesse Robinson. Reeves posted the message on his official Facebook page.
The Governor’s Arts Awards recognize artists and arts organizations that contribute to the cultural life of Mississippi. Honors such as these aim to highlight creative work that shapes community identity, supports local economies and enhances the state’s artistic profile.
Mississippi has a long cultural legacy in music, literature and the performing arts, and recognition from the governor’s office can raise public awareness of artists and ensembles across the state. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
