Suspect charged after firing into business in Hattiesburg
Hattiesburg police said in a Facebook post that officers responded March 27 to a disturbance in the 10 block of Lake Forgetful after a suspect discharged a firearm into a business when he was asked to leave.
The suspect was identified as Jeston Reynolds, 50, of Hattiesburg. He fled the scene but detectives later located and interviewed him and charged him with one count of shooting into a dwelling/business, police said. No injuries were reported and the investigation remains ongoing.
Hattiesburg Police Department serves a city in southern Mississippi and routinely posts public safety notices and incident updates on its social media pages. Law enforcement officials often treat shootings into occupied structures as serious incidents because they can endanger employees, customers and nearby residents.
