Starkville Police offer community service hours for high school students
High school students can earn required community service hours at an event hosted by the Starkville Police Department on Saturday, April 4, the department said in a Facebook post.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Starkville Police Department. Students seeking credit should bring any required school documentation to ensure they receive proper credit for their service hours, the post said.
The Starkville Police Department, the primary law enforcement agency serving the Starkville, Mississippi, area, is offering the opportunity as a way for students to meet school service requirements and for the department to engage with youth in the community. Many high schools and scholarships require a set number of community service hours for graduation or eligibility, making such events useful for students balancing academic and extracurricular commitments.
To sign up or learn more, students or parents may contact Lt. Josh Wilson at 662-323-4131. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
