Starkville officers attend Coffee with a Cop hosted by AARP Chapter 165
The Starkville Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers took part in a Coffee with a Cop event hosted by AARP Chapter 165 this morning.
The department said, “We had a great time this morning at Coffee with a Cop hosted by AARP Chapter 165. Thank you to their members for the hospitality and for taking the time to sit down, talk, and connect with our officers. Thank you for your continued support!”
Coffee with a Cop is a community policing initiative designed to give residents an opportunity to meet local law enforcement in an informal setting. Events like this aim to build trust, encourage open dialogue and allow community members to raise concerns or ask questions directly of officers.
AARP is a nationwide organization that advocates for people 50 and older and maintains local chapters that host community activities. Local AARP chapters often partner with public agencies and civic groups to support social engagement and public safety efforts for older residents and the broader community.
The Starkville Police Department did not provide further details about the event in its post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
