SPD hosts FBI Command Leadership Institute class

SPD said on its Facebook page that it hosted the FBI Command Leadership Institute class this week, bringing together 22 local law enforcement professionals for training designed to prepare supervisors for command-level responsibilities.

The course was led by instructors David Lyons, retired from the Lexington Police Department in Kentucky, and Capt. Kim Edmondson, retired from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The department said both instructors each have nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience and continue to train and support others in the field.

The FBI Command Leadership Institute is a program intended to develop leadership skills among supervisors and command staff across law enforcement agencies. SPD said the training focuses on preparing officers for higher-level responsibilities and fostering future leaders within the agency.

SPD said it is proud to support and invest in the next generation of leaders. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
