Silver Alert issued for 35-year-old Larry Layton
A Silver Alert has been issued for 35-year-old Larry Layton after he walked away from St. David’s personal care home at 3000 Capitol Street, a Facebook post said. Layton is described as 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds.
The post said Layton is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. The Facebook post said officials did not have a clothing description at the time the alert was issued.
Silver Alert programs are used to notify the public when adults with cognitive impairments or other conditions that increase the risk of harm go missing, with the goal of speeding their safe return. Authorities often rely on tips from citizens and local media to locate missing individuals quickly.
People with serious mental health conditions can become disoriented or vulnerable when they leave a care facility. The personal care home and local law enforcement asked for public assistance in locating Layton, according to the Facebook post. Anyone with information is asked to contact local law enforcement or the personal care home.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
