Scott County Sheriff’s Office offers condolences to Jackson County after deputy’s death

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office offered its deepest condolences to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office after the loss of a deputy, the agency said in a Facebook post.

The post said the death of a deputy is not only a loss to the agency but to the entire law enforcement community and honored the life, service and sacrifice of the fallen deputy. “Their legacy will not be forgotten,” the message said, adding that the Jackson County office was in the thoughts and prayers of Scott County personnel and that Scott County stands with them in mourning and support.

The message was signed by Sheriff Mike Lee, Chief Deputy Brad Ellis and Public Information Officer Joshua Thames.

Sheriff’s offices are local law enforcement agencies that frequently express interagency support when an officer is killed or dies in the line of duty. This is a developing matter; we will provide more information as it becomes available.
