Police seek help identifying driver in Hattiesburg school bus hit-and-run

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The Hattiesburg Police Department is asking the public to help identify a driver who fled after striking a Hattiesburg Public School District bus Tuesday morning, police said.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:54 a.m. April 7 in the 3600 block of Campbell Drive when a passenger vehicle struck the bus while it was stopped to pick up students, authorities said. Students were crossing the street at the time of the collision; no injuries were reported.

Police said the driver is described as an adult male who left the scene without providing information and has not been located. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver, mid-size four-door sedan with damage to the left front side. The make and model remain unknown.

Officials asked anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information to contact the Hattiesburg Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
